Von Wim Wenders first feature SUMMER IN THE CITY (1970) was made in six days, when he still was a student at München Film School!

A traveling projection-equipment mechanic works in Western Germany along the East-German border, visiting worn-out theatres. Summer in the City is the first full-length feature film by director Wim Wenders, released in 1970 and starring Hanns Zischler.

Summer in the City est un film allemand réalisé par Wim Wenders, sorti en 1970. Summer in the City is the first full-length feature film by director Wim Wenders, released in 1970 and starring Hanns Zischler.. Wenders' first full-length film was produced as his graduation project at the Academy of Film and Television in Munich ("Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München") which he attended from 1967 to 1970. Even weirder are the relationships Hans seems to have with three different girls, all of whom are very attractive.In the first case, he calls to ask if he can stay over for a few days, which she agrees with. For seven years, she has refused to name the father.

There were lots of major announcements at DC FanDome 2020. Then, there's the music: notably by The Kinks (To whom the film is dedicated), the Lovin'Spoonful, (whose song used for the title of the movie is played in its entirety), Bob Dylan (the first two cuts from his John Wesley Harding album) and many other rock and roll tunes from the late'60s. The 'plot' - Hans' apparent attempts to stay clear of the associates he had before some unknown bad deed landed him in prison, is merely tangential at the most to the visual panoply of street scenes.
