The SSD will cut load times on ALL of your games by at least 50%. I've been wanting to get one for a while, and if it helps the game run/render better I may just bite the bullet. Anyone have any experience using an SSD internal hard drive with DayZ on ps4? If it does, I will buy a new SSD and DayZ : )I just replaced my internal HDD for an 860 EVO SSD on my PS4 Pro.
5 months ago. I have a small SSD's laying around anyway. I just replaced my internal HDD for an 860 EVO SSD on my PS4 Pro. I am worried about the performance on the PS4 'non-Pro'. The SSD cost me $85 and it was installed, initialized, updated and working in under half an hour from the moment I bought it at the store.

The frame rate is pretty bad as expected but it’s still playableDon't know about the regular PS4, but on Pro it's a big performance boost with SSD. I’d wait till next updateThat's probably the best idea. Plus, once I told my friends, "BRB, DayZ keeps crashing, gonna restart computer."
If you really want the lag and awful rendering to go away almost completely, you need to make this upgrade. I have been playing DayZ on PC off and on for the last 4 years. FPS itself is the same I guess, just smooth gameplay. Thanks guys, I might give it a try! If you really want the lag and awful rendering to go away almost completely, you need to make this upgrade. Will it increase FPS for example?I use a pro without an ssd so I can't really say but doesn't an ssd mainly decrease load times?
It's worth every penny for me 1 year ago. Only thing I don’t like is the character models take some time to load so I’m staring at a grey character not knowing if it’s a zombie or my friendWhen I got an SSD for my PC dayz felt a whole lot better, I too have been thinking about buying an SSD for my PS4 pro for dayz but not sure how much difference it will make on the console version.I have a gig Samsung T5 SSD and love it. Paste the envelope in both the root directory of the main game and the DayZ server directory. It’s very easy to replace and it DOES NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY. Most HDD's will make fps stutter on big load ins, SSD for the most part eliminates this. I am talking about DayZ though so who knows.
The PS4 Pro with an SSD is an absolute powerhouse and just making this simple swap and seeing how crazy the improvement is I can’t wait for the PS5 because it is coming with an SSD.Wondering the same. Atleast thats on PC no clue how its gonna work out for a console.Using a regular ps4 with 1 TB ssd and it runs alright. Go back to Steam> steamapps> Common> DayZ server. I feel like it's going to take a lot more than a hard drive to help this game run consistently.SSDs are still problematic for some people. Considering doing it. Find your fellow survivors, share your stories, and collaborate with fellow survivors. We’re massive fans of using an SSD for your PS4. In dayz i have the "normal issues", like fps drops in big towns or lag when double pressing L1 to make zoom. Surprisingly I’ve had no crashes after like 6 hours of play. And not have all that much effect on fps?You see when you turn around rapidly and objects appear grey for a second before the texture pops in? I've heard that it improves other games when it comes to rendering, so I don't see why it wouldn't help here. Probably first gonna try some other game I already own to see if it has any significant effect. We highly recommend this 1TB portable SSD from Samsung, as it’s considered superior to SSDs from other brands. Beside that it runs normal and smooth, better than in my old nvidia notebook.I'm running off a Pro SSHD and it feels like every other gameI do get the lag like everyone else in cities and whatnot.

Does anybody have experience with DayZ on a 'regular' PS4 using an SSD? 60 seconds later I had restarted, logged back in, and got back in the teamspeak, and they were like, "I thought you had to restart," and I said, "I did."
